Senior undergraduate student at Ankara University, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Linguistics. While she has been interested in different areas of cognitive science in the past, especially psycholinguistics, she has currently focused her reading on robot-human interactions and social robots and is trying to develop herself for the computational work she hopes to do in the future. Although he believes that she can only really work in the presence of stress, his thoughts on the mind and cognition turn this into excitement, curiosity and interest and he is very happy to be part of the CogIST team. Bazen yapay zeka ve davranışsal biyoloji konularıyla ilgili merakını giderebilmek için bilgisayar mühendisliği ve biyoloji okumayı düşünür, fakat John von Neumann olmadığını hatırlayınca işine döner. Boş zamanlarını ise nörobilimcileri açıklama boşluğu üzerinden darlayarak ve “let’s play” videoları izleyerek geçirmekten hoşlanır.

He is graduated from Istanbul University Linguistics department and a master's student at Boğaziçi University Cognitive Science. Since he was a senior high schooler he has been interested in cognitive science in various respects. Recently, his main area of interest is philosophy of cognitive science -- more specifically, meta-theory of cognitive science, theory appraisal and the nature of explanation in cognitive science. He loves literature and hard sci-fi.
Faruk Yalçın

Graduated from Bilkent University, Department of Psychology and a graduate student in Psychology at Sabancı University. He is very interested in social cognition and its evolution, including empathy, schadenfreude and moral hypocrisy. He sometimes considers studying computer engineering and biology to satisfy his curiosity about artificial intelligence and behavioral biology, but when he remembers that he is not John von Neumann, he goes back to work. In his spare time, he likes to bash neuroscientists over the explanation gap and watch "let's play" videos.

Maharrem is a graduate of the Linguistics department at Boğaziçi University and is currently in his first year of the Linguistics PhD program at the University of California, Davis. He researches and thinks about the topics of sign language and the acquisition of sign language. In addition, he is interested in language evolution. He is also a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute. Folk music, Anatolian rock, and chess are among his interests.

Graduated from Bahçeşehir University in 2020 with a major in Psychology and a minor in Computer Engineering. She worked as a student research assistant at Bahçeşehir University brain and cognition research laboratory, research assistant at ITUAIRLAB and research assistant at University of British Columbia Visual Cognition Lab. She is interested in cognitive neuroscience and cognitive sciences.

I'm studying psychology and molecular biology at Koç University, both of which I'm interested in cognitive neuroscience and neuropharmacology. I'm currently working in a social cognitive neuroscience lab (SoMi Lab) at Koç University and assisting in different research projects. As a student aiming for a career in these fields, being part of the CogIST team is very valuable for me. Of course, I do not neglect my plans to become a dog trainer :)
