At the first Academy Cognition of the new season, Neslihan Çalışkan, who is a psychology student at the University of South Florida, gave the talk "Brain Oscillations and Psycholinguistics!" Neslihan focused on language processing in the brain and told us about one of the most investigated components of neural oscillations, N400, and late N400 positivities.

ACADEMY COGNITION #9

Eylül Turan a PhD student at the Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven) was with us at Academy Cognition # 9! In her presentation titled "Spatial Language and Cognition in Children", Eylül focused on the spatial linguistic development in children and its relationship with mathematical problem solving skills, and also talked about the relationship between language and thought.

Hilal NizamoÄŸlu, a master's student of Bilkent University Neuroscience Program was with us at the Academy Cognition #10. Hilal, in her talk titled "We Can Learn Something From The Walking Man", she talked about the biological motion perception, how attention affects it and what is the evolutionary aspect of it. Mert KobaÅŸ, a  graduate student at Koç University Psychology Department was with us at the Academy Cognition #11. Mert, in his talk titled "Multiple Directions in Cognitive Development", he talked about how motor and language skills are affected by different physical and socio-cultural factors, as well as how these skills affect each other. Furkan Özçelik, a postgraduate student at Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III The Brain and Cognition Research Center was with us at the Academy Cognition #12. Mert, in his talk titled "Neural Coding and Analysis with Deep Learning", he talked about how methods such as deep learning are used in neuroscience and what new findings these methods provide.
